Privacy Policy

1. Information we collect

If you sign in with Google

Signing in is only needed to set price-drop alerts. We receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google — we never see or store your Google password. We use this only to identify your account and to know where to send an alert.

If you set a price alert

We store the product, your target price, and which notification channels you chose (email, push, or Telegram), so we can check and notify you when the price drops to that level.

If you connect our Telegram bot

We store your Telegram chat ID against your account, solely so the bot can send your price-drop alerts and deal broadcasts to the right chat. We don't read your other Telegram messages or contacts.

If you install our browser extension

On supported store pages (Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra and others we track), the extension sends the product page's URL to our server to check whether we track that product and, if so, to show its price history. It does not run on, or send data from, any other website you visit.

Automatically, for everyone

Like most websites, we use Google Analytics to understand overall traffic — pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type. We also set one first-party cookie (pt_vid) that lasts up to a year; it lets us attribute a click on a "Buy on [Store]" link to that visit, purely to measure which stores and products are popular. Neither of these tells us who you are unless you've also signed in.

2. How we use it

• To run the features you opt into — price alerts, Telegram notifications, the browser extension.
• To understand which stores, categories and pages are actually useful, so we can improve them.
• To keep the service secure and stop abuse (e.g. spam sign-ups).

We do not sell your personal information to anyone, for any reason.

3. Affiliate links

"Buy on [Store]" links on PriceTrail go through our own redirect on the way to the retailer's site. If you make a purchase after clicking one, we may earn a small commission from the store — at no extra cost to you. This funds the free tracking service. It never changes the price you see or pay, and it never affects which products we show or how a Deal Confidence Score is calculated.

4. Who we share information with

• Google — to run sign-in, and (separately) Google Analytics for traffic stats.
• Telegram — only your chat ID, only if you connect the bot, only to deliver alerts.
• Retailers/affiliate networks — only click/purchase attribution when you use a "Buy" link, not your account details.

We don't share your data with anyone else.

5. Keeping your data safe

Our site is served over HTTPS, our database is not publicly accessible, and admin access is restricted and password-protected. No online service can guarantee perfect security, but we take reasonable, standard precautions to protect what we store.

6. Your choices

• You can delete individual price alerts, or disconnect Telegram, at any time from your account.
• You can uninstall the browser extension at any time — it stops sending any data the moment you do.
• You can email us to request your account and its data be deleted entirely.

7. Children's privacy

PriceTrail is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.

8. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use PriceTrail after a change means you're okay with the update.
